Maxar , the leading provider of Earth imagery products, is currently seeking a Senior Backend API Developer to join our team in the product engineering organization. This position is located in Westminster, CO.

Your Project: In this role, you will be part of a team that is responsible for developing services that enable and maximize the use of our 100+ Petabyte image archive. We are 'all in' on AWS and have a dynamic roadmap to leverage the benefits of that platform to build on our industry leading capabilities. Our team embraces agile, deploys multiple times daily and owns its services from design through production.

Responsibilities:

• Research, evaluate, design, develop, implement, and improve state-of-the-art software in collaboration with software developers, system architects, and business stakeholders
• Communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary agile team, articulating technical concepts and ideas
• Follow and establish best practices for coding standards and software architecture
• Support the on-going growth and practices of agile development within the organization
• Apply AWS Fargate and Lambda to our current environment

Minimum Requirements:

• and be willing and able to obtain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
• Minimum of 5 years of software development experience
• Demonstrated OO development experience within a production environment
• Experience working in a collaborative development environment (e.g. submitting and reviewing pull requests, code reviews, team design sessions, etc)
• Familiarity with Agile software development practices

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Secret security clearance
• Java development experience
• 1+ years of building and supporting applications in AWS
• AWS Fargate and Lambda experience
• Self-starter with great communication skills that enjoys problem solving across multiple products and services
• Familiarity with containerization and serverless development
• Working within SAFe agile framework
• Experience within the space industry
• Experience building, monitoring, and alerting in micro-service architecture
• Python experience
• Geographic information Systems (GIS) experience

The compensation range for this position is 89,250.00 - 148,750.00 USD annually, dependent on skills and experience.

$10,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates who sign an offer by April 18th 2020
