Native Excavating has an opening for a Commercial Project Superintendent in Steamboat Springs. We are seeking a highly motivated person with a passion for commercial civil construction. Responsibilities
- Pre Construction:
o Attend pre-construction meetings and pre-bid meetings
o Work with Project Manager to establish work flow, production schedule, and ensure that necessary engineering issues are resolved
o Size and schedule crews
- Construction Phase:
o Progress photos and documentation
o Work with permitting coordinator to ensure compliance on safety and storm water
o Ensure OSHA and company safety policies are followed
o Work with project foreman to understand scope and change orders
o Set and maintain schedules, facilitate production to meet or exceed the schedule
o Ensure that jobsite organization is ahead of production
o Review material deliveries for accuracy
o Attend subcontractor meetings
o Review schedule, material use, equipment and manpower weekly with Project Manager to catch potential issues early
- Other Items:
o Implement and enforce company policies (drug, cleanliness, etc.) at all times
o Safety: Stay up to date with all MSHA/OSHA regulations and ensure complete compliance at all times
o Train workers on equipment and job tasks or lineup training
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years experience in supervisory role over civil construction work
- Detailed understanding of underground utility excavation and safety standards, commercial foundation excavation, and site development
- Experience working as a subcontractor for larger building contractors, attending site meetings, and coordinating schedules
