Live-in caregiver job is for my mom at her house in Grand Junction, CO. My mom is in her 90's and is a very cheerful and pleasant lady that has advanced dementia. Applicant must be non-smoker and comfortable with pets. This should be considered a long term position with a minimum one year commitment.
The Caregiver will be responsible for:
Assist clients with personal care, including dressing, mobility, administering medication, personal hygiene, eating and transporting to doctors appointments
Monitor patient medications and update health documents
Maintain open communication with family and health care professionals regarding clients medical and emotional condition
Document and report any changes in clients health status
Person must be cheerful and receptive as they administer care
Ensure highest client safety and well-being
Manage a household independently including; cleaning, laundry, shopping, mail, notifying family of maintenance items
Caring for moms dog, feeding, vet appts, regular yard clean up
Required work experience/skills:
GED or HS diploma, some college is a plus
Extensive experience working with the elderly
Impeccable written and oral communication skills
Experience and knowledge working with patients who have dementia
Ability to problem solve quickly
Training, classes, certifications are an asset
First aid and CPR training would be a plus
No criminal history and must agree to background check
Valid drivers license
The home is located in a very quiet and safe neighborhood with a nice shady back yard. You would have your own room and bathroom, TV & wifi.
