A flexible, part time job opportunity that offers you the ability to work at the top of your dental hygienist licensure in an educational capacity and help supplement your income! Tri-County Health Network is looking for Colorado licensed dental hygienists to be a part of our school-based oral health prevention program known as Skippy. Hours concur with Skippy clinics that are held during the Fall and Spring semesters at elementary/middle schools located throughout Delta, Montrose, Ouray, & San Miguel counties. On the day of the clinic, he/she will assist in the set-up and breakdown of dental equipment at the school and provide sealants, fluoride, interim therapeutic restoration (ITR), cleaning, radiology, and dental hygiene education. Ideal candidate must enjoy children, be comfortable working with mobile dental equipment, and be able to work independently while being a team player. Experience and bilingual (Spanish) a plus. In order to qualify for the position, the candidate must maintain a Colorado license, active malpractice coverage, and certification with Colorado Medicaid/CHP+. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with children, be able to work independently, and be comfortable with mobile dental equipment. He/she must also have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contractor agrees to complete the following activities within specified timeframes when
requested by TCHNetwork:
1. Maintain a license as required by Colorado law, to perform the duties required under this
Agreement and remain in good standing with the applicable state licensing or authorizing
agency/board.
2. Maintain active malpractice coverage as required by the Dental Practice Act.
3. Maintain certification with Colorado Medicaid and CHP+.
4. Valid drivers license with reliable transportation
5. Comply with all credentialing requirements including notification if there are any changes to
licensure status or malpractice coverage.
6. Assign 100% of fees generated through the Skippy program to TCHNetwork for billing and
collection to Medicaid, CHP+ and Commercial dental insurance carriers and for the financial
reporting of Skippy clinics.
7. Attend any required Skippy training provided by TCHNetwork.
8. Sign-up for Skippy clinic days that work best for Contractors schedule
9. Arrive on time for selected Skippy clinics.
10. Provide sealants, fluoride, interim therapeutic restoration (ITR), cleaning, radiology and
Skippy dental hygiene education to children ages 0-18.
11. Assist in the set-up and breakdown of any dental equipment or supplies to designated Skippy
clinic, as required.
12. Ability to carry 50 pounds
13. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not necessary
14. Experience working with disadvantaged populations and children
15. Any other duties as required to ensure the success of the program and the TCHNetwork.
