GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Conservation Lands Foundation (CLF) is a national non-profit organization headquartered in Durango, Colorado with offices in San Francisco, Las Cruces, Las Vegas, Joshua Tree, and Washington, DC. The Conservation Lands Foundation, established in 2007, to protect the premier lands and waters under the Bureau of Land Managements (BLMs) jurisdiction specifically the 36 million acres of National Monuments and National Conservation Areas, Wilderness and Wilderness Study Areas, and 2,400 miles of Wild and Scenic Rivers, and 6,000 miles of and National Scenic and Historic Trails that make up our National Conservation Lands.
Our mission is to protect, restore and expand the National Conservation Lands through education, advocacy and partnerships.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Conservation Lands Foundation is looking for a motivated, passionate and self-directed person to support our Executive Director (ED), Senior Finance and Operations Director, and Senior Development Director; and assisting in general organizational and programmatic support. The ability to interact with staff at all levelswhile remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficientis essential. A high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial. The ideal candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills; experience with social media a plus. Attentiveness to detail; project and time management abilities are important. This person should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability and willingness to represent CLF and its mission. This is a full-time, salaried position and will report to the Senior Finance and Operations Director.
POSITION OBJECTIVES:
Coordination of complex schedules for the Executive Director and Senior Development Director
Manage end-to-end travel, including arranging meetings, setting itineraries, briefings of set meetings and managing expenses for the Executive Director and Senior Development Director
Collaborate with the ED in drafting correspondence and managing emails
Manage monthly expense reports for the ED and Senior Development Director
Provide essential administrative support for the ED and Senior Leadership Team; including special projects, communications, coordination and attendance of meetings
Basic bookkeeping (Accounts Payable, credit card expense reporting)
Provide general admin/finance support for the Senior Finance and Operations Director
Contribute to special projects as requested and assist in various aspects of CLF's work as requested by the ED and Leadership Team with precision and the utmost respect for confidentiality.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
3 years of administrative or personal assistant experience, ideally in a fast-paced non-profit environment;
Bookkeeping and QuickBooks experience;
Proficient in PowerPoint, Adobe and Excel;
An active approach to problem-solving and collaborating with teams;
Impeccable administrative skills drafting correspondence, managing email, scheduling, record keeping, etc.;
Excellent judgment, ability to adhere to confidentiality as needed, and strong emotional intelligence to facilitate relationship building with staff, the leadership team, the Board, and our partners in the field.
Demonstrates an awareness and sensitivity to the needs and concerns of individuals from diverse cultures, backgrounds and orientations; and
Contributes to the creation of a diverse, equitable and inclusive work culture that encourages, celebrates and supports differences.
