Job Title: Office Coordinator/Advocate

Hours: Full time, 40 hrs/wk

Pay: $17/hour DOE plus benefits (health and vision insurance, 2 weeks paid vacation)

The Mahoney House is non-profit organization located in Salmon, Idaho with a mission to stop, prevent, and heal the effects of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking in Lemhi and Custer counties. We are looking for an energetic, dynamic person to join our team who can assist in the implementation of the programs and services offered at the Mahoney House, work as an advocate for survivors, and help carry out the overall mission of the organization. The ideal candidate is extremely organized, has experience writing grants, and has superb computer skills. Although we are a small organization tasked with a big job, we work hard to create a supportive, positive, flexible working environment with an emphasis on self-care. This person needs to be able to maintain a good attitude and sense of humor while working collaboratively to tackle tough issues. A passion to create social change is a must!

Responsibilities:

Works directly with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. This includes attending meetings, medical appointments, and court appearances with survivors and making referrals to appropriate resources and services and assisting survivors in emergency situations.

Ensures that client records, essential paperwork, and documentation are updated and accurate

Helps manage the 24-hour crisis hotline and handles phone calls, walk-ins and other administrative duties at the Mahoney House

Researches funding opportunities, writes grants and participates in fundraising activities

Generates monthly and quarterly grant reports to fulfill funding requirements

Maintains and implements funding calendar activities

Identifies and organizes educational and training opportunities for the community including law enforcement, legal, medical and court personnel

Is responsible for organizational messaging by managing website, composing quarterly newsletters, and posting on social media

Presents and facilitates educational programs including parenting classes, community presentations, and Social Emotional Learning with youth

Promotes programs, classes, and services via social media outlets, newspapers, radio, and community presentations

Networks with community, state, and federal agencies to support the Mahoney Houses mission and objectives and attends community meetings on behalf of the organization

Works with coworkers and administration to meet developing needs of the organization

Requirements:

Has a minimum of three years experience in administration and/or grant writing

Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills including public speaking

Completes administrative tasks correctly and on time

Is a positive team player and has incredible attention to detail

Is efficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), website design, and social media including Facebook and Instagram

Has strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Is passionate about making a positive change in our community and working to end the cycle of violence

Understands the complexities of and is able to work in a small, rural, geographically isolated community

Is sensitive to the needs of people, is tolerant of diverse lifestyles and values, and communicates well across cultural and educational barriers

Understands and complies with the strict rules of confidentiality

Will travel for off-site meetings, training, and seminars

Must be able to work some nights and weekends

Passes a background check

Has a valid drivers license and current proof of insurance
