About this position:
We are looking for a technically skilled candidate with excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills for the position of Desktop Support Specialist. The duties of a Desktop Support Specialist include setting up and maintaining employee equipment and account set up, being a reference point for all IT related queries at the user level, responding to user needs in a timely manner and ensuring the optimal running of all systems, among other technical duties.
The Desktop Support Specialist is a part - time role estimated at 24 hours per week, with the possibility this will develop into a full time position.
In this role, you will:
Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, scanners and conference A/V equipment
Performs VOIP phone setup, programming, and configuration.
Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level.
Performing tests and evaluations on new software and hardware.
Providing support to users (may be in person or over the phone)
Communicates issues or possible risks to management, end users and IT staff.
Assist with maintaining desktop inventory
Troubleshoot, diagnoses and repairs of computer software malfunction and resolves issues in a minimally disruptive manner.
Conducting daily backup operations.
Managing technical documentation.
Configure PCs and virtual machines in accordance with department standards
Adheres to IT policies, procedures and protocols
Assist the Director of MIS with other duties as assigned
The skills/qualifications we are looking for are:
Minimum 2 years experience preferred
Ability to diagnose and resolve desktop or phone system functionality issues and or escalated issues.
Advanced skills with Window and Mac Computer Systems
Advanced skills with GSuite Apps, MS Office, NetSuite, BaseCamp
Ability to complete tasks and assignments accurately and with a sense of urgency
Ability to enforce Bluetents IT security functionality.
Self-starter who takes initiative
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
The ability to solve problems while maintaining a positive attitude and sense of humor
Understanding of DNS/DHCP/VPN
Desire to work in and learn more about e-commerce web platforms and the Vacation Rental Industry
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. on a regular basis
Must be able to occasionally bend and crawl on hands and knees
Proposed work schedule of 8:30-5 M,W,F - some after hours work may be required
