Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?
The Managed Container Services team within Infrastructure and Cloud Services organization is seeking a senior level solution engineer to implement and support Cloud Foundry platform in multiple locations including AWS and in Travelers Data Centers. The Managed Container team is responsible for building our next generation of Cloud Foundry on AWS environments as well as working closely with the Lines of Business to develop, implement and transition applications to the new modern container platform. Successful candidate will bring background in Cloud Foundry and/or Kubernetes container technologies including the advance knowledge of BOSH and Cloud Foundry, Docker and Kubernetes, and Linux administration and Bash scripting.

Under limited supervision, demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the activities performed related to engineering support, installation and/or operations of infrastructure technologies. Plans at a tactical level and manages the effective use of technology resources for assigned projects and functions. May direct assigned project staff to design, develop and/or implement large, complex technology solutions supporting one or more business and/or technology area. Develops and implements appropriate solutions that may involve multiple platforms, databases, software/hardware technologies and tools. Facilitates and/or participates in the design and development of database systems. Strong ability to multi-task in an environment of constantly changing priorities.
What Will You Do?

• Implementing and supporting Cloud Foundry platform in multiple locations, including AWS and in Travelers Data Centers.
• Supporting Cloud Foundry-based applications in their journeys to migrate from on-prem to the public cloud.
• Supporting Kubernetes-based applications in their evolution from traditional IaaS applications or Cloud Foundry-based applications.
• On-going maintenance and support of Kubernetes platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift or Amazon EKS
• Develop automation of platform pipeline processes and monitoring/alerting tools
• Participation in on-call on rotational basis
• Develops tactics and operational plans in alignment with strategic objectives for assigned technologies and projects.
• Drives the execution of departmental and corporate programs.
• Leverages infrastructure technology to develop and/or redesign technology solutions.
• Builds, leverages, and maintains effective alliances across technical and business community.
• Interacts with customers to achieve efficient, effective results.
• Multi-tasks, prioritizes according to business priorities and production availability requirements.
• Seen as a technical expert within service delivery organization (SDO) and consults across SDOs.
• Other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

• Seven years of experience in Technology preferred.
• Two years of experience as a technical lead preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as Network, Database, Server, Storage, DNS, Load-Balancer, Virtualization, etc. preferred.
• Expert knowledge of one or more of the following technical skills:
  - Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes
  - Cloud provider such as vSphere, Google Cloud Platform, AWS
  - Linux system administration, including Shell Scripting
  - Java, Go or other cloud native programming language
  - HTTP, TLS and other data services protocols
  - YAML and JSON data format

What is a Must Have?

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or its equivalent in work experience, plus five years of experience in Technology required;
• Alternatively, a Master's degree in CS or a related field and three years of work experience in Technology
