If you're looking to work in a challenging and interesting environment, read on.
Amateur (Ham) Radio is a hobby enjoyed by many thousands of people in just about every country on Earth. Ham Radio operators are also frequently called on for help with communications during emergencies, disasters, and even local parades, marathons, and bike races. Quicksilver Radio Products, located in Meriden CT, is one of the world's leading suppliers of Ham Radio accessories. We manufacture a line of unique and useful equipment, as well as offering top quality items sourced globally.

Your duties will include some light assembly work, packaging and shipping customer orders, receiving and inventory tracking. We pride ourselves on quality products and prompt, accurate shipment of orders, so attention to detail is important. And if you're free to travel, sometimes for a week or more, you'll get to see a good part of the country while we exhibit at trade shows all over the Eastern US and parts of the Midwest.
You need to have:
A good attitude
A strong work ethic
A willingness to learn
The ability to follow simple instructions
Higher consideration will be given if you have:
A Ham Radio License
Soldering skills
Familiarity with basic hand tools and mechanical ability
Knowledge of electronics
And since we maintain our Website and Social Media presence in-house, it would be great if you also have at least some experience with:
Product photography
Photoshop, InDesign, WordPress, MS Publisher, Corel Draw
Basic Web Site and Graphic Design
Social Media marketing
Yep, that's a pretty broad range of skills. If you have all of them, wonderful! If you have some of them, we'd still like to talk to you. Flexible arrangements are certainly possible.
If you suffer from frequent illnesses, flat tires, Grandmothers' funerals, and debilitating hangnails, you will be happier working elsewhere.
If you need to check Facebook, Twitter, text messages, and e-mail every 10 minutes, there is a position available for you. It's not here, however.
That being said, we try to have fun while we work, and not take ourselves too seriously. We laugh a lot and can be downright irreverent and politically incorrect at times.
How to Apply:
E-Mail your resume as a pdf attachment with the subject "I Want to Work for Quicksilver Radio."
Include in the body of your e-mail a paragraph or two telling me why you want to work here. Also include a paragraph or two about your favorite restaurant in Connecticut.
We look forward to hearing from you and hope you'll be joining the team.
