Hours: Part Time up to 20 hours (Week Nights & Weekends availability a must)

Position Objective: The Liquor Store Sales Clerk is responsible for sales work and cashier transactions at Cost Cutter Liquors Fine Wine & Spirits, and reports to/as the Liquor Store Manager. It is also a duty of selling receiving and stocking of packaged liquors in a licensed environment. Detail oriented and capable of acting alone and ensuring store functions smoothly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 Customer service includes greeting customers upon entry, waiting on customers, including but not limited to: finding items on shelves, recommending and selling merchandise to customers, and carrying merchandise to cars. Deliver exceptional level of customer service.

 Ring up retail sales, receive payments and give change. Check proper identification to sell liquor, beer, wine and cigarettes.

 Stock, arrange and rotate liquor merchandise on shelves. Stock beer coolers and set up displays. Stocking shelves may involve carrying large quantities of beer, liquor and wine; and, involves accessing products in the back-room storage area.

 Perform general cleaning maintenance in the store, including but not limited to dusting shelves, displays, etc.; vacuuming and sweeping floors; removing snow from walkways; removing trash from store; cleaning store and cooler windows; washing shelves and bottles; and cleaning restrooms.

 May occasionally open and close the store; and, operate alarm system.

 Loss prevention responsibilities.

 Ability to work without the use of Mobile/Texting services. See Personal Electronic Device Policy in the Employee Handbook

 Perform all other related duties and responsibilities as apparent or as assigned such as:

 Ready to manage quality control and safety measures.

 Receive inspected and properly stored deliveries.

 Maintain stock replenishment contacting suppliers as needed.

 Manage levels of inventory of product lines to meet demand.

 Maintain work area so that it was always presentable

 Manage quality rotation and product.

 Supply customer assistance when necessary with price checks and selection.

 Sweep and mop on closing, or when necessary to maintain a clean and tidy store.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

 Ability to promote and market products, and answer customer questions regarding products.

 Ability to work evenings and weekends, and some holidays.

 Ability to proactively greet customers, be friendly, professional, polite and helpful in dealing with customers and employees.

 Ability to learn visual merchandising to create attractive displays and special promotions.

 Knowledge and ability with basic computer operations.

 Ability to read and speak fluently in English.

Work Environment:

General environmentally controlled retail store conditions but will also be exposed to inclement weather conditions assisting customers with carry out. Service operations will vary from loud to quiet depending on the number of customers.

Essential Physical Requirements:

The physical demands are those encountered while performing the listed essential functions. While performing the duties associated with the job, employee will be required to stand or sit; walk, use hands to fingers, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to work in a cooler; stoop or crouch with frequent bending, twisting and standing for extended periods of time. Must be able to speak and hear. Physical strength may be needed to lift/carry/move up to approximately 30 - 75 pound cases of merchandise frequently, stock shelves/coolers and assist customers with carry out.
