Job Description

-Restorative Dental practice in established Hamden, CT is seeking a chairside Dental Assistant for a full-time position along with long term commitment to the practice. Dr. Robert T. Golia DDS, is an award-winning private practice with deep, longstanding relationships with our patients. We are looking for a motivated, professional and pleasant fast-learner to join our team. This candidate must display professionalism, exceptional communication skills, attention to detail and takes initiative in a fast-paced environment.

The Candidate must:

Perform a variety of dental assisting and laboratory duties, within compliance of state regulations, to promote superior dental care for patients in a stress free, comfortable environment. Assists the doctor, teaches patients how to care for their teeth, communicates effectively with patients, maintains equipment and inventory, and follows universal precautions and all OSHA requirements to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Promote a safe, pleasant and harmonious environment for staff, doctor and patients. Actively promotes the practice both in the office and out of it.

Primary Duties:

-Ensures proper treatment armamentarium for all contingencies.

-Assist doctor during diagnosis and treatment-four or six handed.

-Knowledgeable and proficient in Dexis digital radiography.

-Knowledgeable and proficient in Dentrix.

-Perform postoperative patient care.

-Perform instrument sterilization and infection control in the office.

-Clean and stock treatment rooms and laboratory.

-Control inventory of clinical supplies and implant supplies.

-Maintain tray set ups and bur blocks.

-Take alginate impressions, pour and base diagnostic models.

-Laboratory preparation for prosthetics and maintenance of cleanliness.

-Monitor lab cases in and out and coordinate with Treatment Coordinator and/or front desk (scheduling).

-Coordinates treatment sequencing with Treatment Coordinator.

-Maintain handpieces and equipment.

-Knowledgeable and proficient in N2O maintenance.

-Facebow mounting of cases involving occlusal analysis, appliance therapy and dentures.

Job Specification:

-5+ years experience

-High School Graduate

-DANB Certified

-DAMBE Certified

-Ability to maintain outgoing, friendly attitude with patients and staff even under pressure.

-Ability to work with interruptions and to manage multiple priorities.

-Ability to speak, understand and write grammatically correct English.

-Knowledge of Dentistry

-Manual dexterity

-Ability to complete tasks efficiently within a timely manner.

-Ability to accept and follow instructions from the Doctor.
