We're hiring!
Maplewood Farm is looking for a Lead Teacher and an Assistant Teacher for our summer camp program held at Roseland Park in Woodstock, Connecticut. The camp runs Monday through Friday from July 8th to July 26th. Teachers must attend two camper orientations on Thursday, June 27th at 6:30pm and Saturday, June 29th at 9:30am as well as staff training on Saturday, June 22nd (time to be determined).
Lead teacher responsibilities include:
Leading Open Circle and Closing Circle (discussion, stories, and songs) at the beginning and end of the camp day
Setting up materials and managing campers during Center Activities which include art, movement, and sensory exploration
Ensuring safe and efficient Drop Off and Pick Up routines
Following curriculum with the ability to improvise as needed
Hours: 8:30am to 12:30pm = 20 hours/week
Pay: $18.00/hour
Assistant teacher responsibilities include:
Participating in Open and Closing Circle
Cleaning up snack
Walking students to the Port-a-Potty
Assisting students during Center Activities
Hours: 8:45am-12:15pm = 17.5 hours/week
Pay: $10.25/hour
Both teachers will:
use open-ended language to encourage conversation and creativity
have experience managing groups of children
work with small farm animals
purchase and wear camp shirts
be punctual and professional at all times
