Farm Field Hand position:
We are looking for a full-time field hand on our organic, family farm in Lebanon CT. This position is critical to our farm operation and includes harvest, vegetable processing in the wash station, and field work like weeding, planting, composting, etc. Includes potential for additional hours selling at a Farmers Market.
This full-time position is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday starting immediately and continuing through Thanksgiving, 40 hours per week. Successful candidate will be strong, fast, and easy to work with. A friendly disposition, positivity and emotional maturity are required. You will be working alone, as well as in groups with people from all walks of life (part-time employees, volunteers, bosses (us), young, old, male, female, diverse ethnic/racial backgrounds, etc.). We need to know that your work will remain focused and productive whomever you are working with.
Farming requires the ability to multi-task with diligence and awareness, without getting totally lost in the details. We will need to teach and then correct your work many times during the season, so the ability to happily take constructive criticism and be flexible in your learning is a must.
Perseverance and a sense of humor through what can often be exhausting or tedious work in very hot/cold/wet conditions is necessary this is hard work! Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly is a pretty good baseline of physical readiness. Clean drivers license and vehicle required.
