The Director of Family Ministries is responsible for faith formation with the children, youth, and families in our congregation and community. The purpose of this ministry is to provide opportunities for young people to experience the love of God, to learn about the Bible and about our faith, and to put faith into action through service and mission.
A successful applicant will have experience and training in Christian education, theology, ministry, education, or other related fields. They will be familiar with basic Biblical knowledge, comfortable with progressive Christian theology and practice, and supportive of FCCWs Open and Affirming statement. They will be skilled in working with young people, parents, colleagues, and volunteers. They will bring a positive attitude, an independent work ethic, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a desire to learn and grow. They will communicate effectively through a variety of channels, including using social media to share information and build community. They will have, or be willing to develop, knowledge of our community and relationships with relevant community leaders.
