Description
Part Time Operator will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Wyre Wynd Hydropower facility located in Jewett City, CT. Individual must have field experience in related area and must demonstrate a strong pattern of reliability. Candidates with mechanical, millwright and/or electrical background are preferred. Rigging, carpentry, masonry, fabrication, welding, heavy equipment operation and project management skills are all beneficial for this job. Candidate must show pride of work and the ability to work efficiently and safely to maximize production with the water available. Willingness to travel to other Gravity owned sites to perform repair work is a plus.
Individual must be able to work well with others and have strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate with text, emails, sending photos and attachments, etc. Strong documentation skills are required for this work. Experience with MS word and/or excel is a plus. We prefer this candidate to live within 20 min or less of Jewett City, CT and have reliable transportation and a cell phone.
Schedule
Schedule is expected to be approximately 20-30 hrs/week. However this can vary quite a bit depending on season and work demand. On call, weekend and night work are expected during busy seasons or when key equipment is out of service.
Pay/Benefits
$17 to $22/hr plus quarterly bonus
401K with partial matching contributions
Opportunity for full time work and higher pay w/ benefits if you have significant hydropower experience.
