We strive to provide exemplary service to our tenants and maintain a well-kept property. Orchard Acres Apartments is a 98-unit apartment community serving the UCONN area, located in Storrs. CT. Gajewski Realty is expanding in this region and will be acquiring more properties soon! We are currently seeking a skilled, qualified maintenance technician to join our team.
Position Description:
Are you a knowledgeable, self-motivated maintenance technician looking to utilize your skill set within a residential apartment community? Apply to our organization today! An ideal candidate is a talented individual that can take initiative to assist with the general upkeep of our rental properties, maintain the interior and exterior appearance, fix issues as they arise, and attend to all matters within the rental units. We are seeking an employee that wants to grow with us long-term!
Specific duties of this position include:
⢠Complete maintenance requests within 48 hours
⢠Complete make-readies (apartment turns) in a timely manner
⢠Landscape property weekly during the spring, winter, and fall season
⢠Remove snow from parking lot and sidewalks during the snow season
⢠Keep the lower level doors free of leaves, snow, and other debris
⢠Maintain garden beds around the properties
⢠Tend to 24/7 emergency maintenance calls
⢠Upkeep grounds and attend to issues as they arise
⢠Pick up trash on property daily (attending to any unsightly debris)
⢠Clean laundry room/mailroom as needed
⢠Keep maintenance shop clean and organized
⢠Suggest improvements/recommendations to corporate as needed
⢠Communicate with office and maintenance staff to coordinate, prioritize and complete tasks on-site
⢠Travel between Orchard Acres, Ball Hill, and other future properties to handle maintenance-related operations
This is a full-time position that will require occasional overtime for emergency after-hour calls, snowstorms, and apartment turns during peak season. With our growing portfolio in this area, this position will require travel between our different locations.
Required Qualifications:
⢠2-3 years of Maintenance Experience
⢠Valid Drivers License
⢠Electrical Certification (Preferred)
⢠Plumbing Certification (Preferred)
⢠Must be able to pass background check
⢠Must be able to handle heavy appliances and equipment
