Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer - New Product Development (North Haven, CT)Location:North Haven, Connecticut, United StatesRequisition #:21000TR6Post Date:9 hours agoCareers That Change LivesIn this exciting role as the Sr. Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME), you will function as a key Operations member for New Product Development (NPD) initiatives supporting the General Surgery and Market Access Operations Team for Access and Instrumentation platform. Sr. Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for supporting all NPD Operations deliverables, supporting extended team members, and leading the effective execution of the Extended Team activities, to meet or exceed project Time to Market (TTM) goals. General responsibilities will include deliverables in the areas of Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Packaging, Graphics, and New Product Line Start-up, including Assembly and Test Equipment validation and qualification, associated with the development and commercialization of new surgical Mechanical Devices. Supports assembly and test equipment validations and qualifications including FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ, and MSA studies.

Supports the Capital Expense Request (CER) process, specifying costs for Component Tooling, Assembly and Packaging Equipment, and Test Fixtures, with consideration to product standard cost targets and capacity demands.

Contributor to product commercialization strategy, including make versus buy analyses, manufacturing site selection, component supplier selections and tooling strategies, assembly line strategy, etc

Participates in DFMEA, PFMEA, and CTQ processes to assure that product and assembly specifications are clearly defined, documented, and updated accordingly thru the product development cycle.

Participates in DFM and DFA activities to support early product and process development in conjunction with advanced quality planning.

Examines new technology advances associated with production process development and assembly and test equipment.

Supports production as the Operations technical expert from start-up through transfer, including leading lean initiatives for launch excellence and to reduce time to transfer.

Advises Management of any unmitigated risks and/or developments that could affect schedule, standard cost, or revenue.

Some travel to manufacturing sites and supplier visits required.

Continue to enhance engineering and leadership skills through additional training and education.

Partake in AME Technology Roadmaps as applicable and/or Continuous Improvement Initiatives

Must Have (Minimum Requirements)To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume .Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering required with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience or OR advance degree with a minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience

Nice to Have ( Preferred Qualifications )Trained/Certified in Lean and/or 6 Sigma

Demonstrated knowledge of DFMEA and PFMEA

Demonstrated knowledge of GDT

Demonstrated knowledge of DFM DFA principles

Significant manufacturing process experience, including plastic injection molding, metal stamping, and CNC machining methods

Significant experience with medium to high volume assembly and test equipment technologies, including validation protocols (IQ / CQ / OQ / PQ / MSA), ESD controls, and equipment procurement

Strong familiarity with statistical analyses, including process capability, process control, Design of Experiments, etc.

Strong understanding of Industrial Engineering tools including balance tables, process flow diagrams, line layouts, ergonomic workstation designs, etc.

Exceptional Project Management and Team Leadership skills

Ability to work across global business units
