Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and creative Junior Copywriter whose prime focus is to assist the creative team with the Diageo business. They should be able to create engaging copy while adhering to the brief. Understanding digital and social ecosystem and innately understand social channels (especially newer ones) is a big plus.

They should conduct thorough research before writing and assisting thecreative team with the Diageo businessin developing creative concepts and promotional copy.

The Junior Copywriter should be familiar with best social media practices. They should be able to take constructive feedback and make the alterations needed. Their ability to handle stressful situations and manage strict deadlines will be advantageous.

To perform at this job role, they should be highly motivated and passionate about writing. Having a portfolio of published articles will give them an upper hand (but is not necessary). In addition to this, they should be a self-learner, having the zeal to upgrade their knowledge.

• Creating content for blogs, websites, social and print media

• Conducting in-depth research before writing

• Writing attractive copies for promotional and marketing purposes

• Optimizing content to target a larger audience

• Coordinating with creative team members in creating supporting copy for graphics/illustrations

• Brainstorming new content ideas

• Reading and understanding the content brief clearly

• Making corrections to the content as and when required

• Communicating with clients to understand their content requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field

• 0-2 years of experience as a Content Writer

• Knowledge of SEO principles and practicesis a plus

• Familiarity with Content Management Software like WordPress, Joomla, Wix and Four Square is a plus

• Understanding of the latest social media trends and developments

• Highly creative and motivated individual

• Good time management and organizational skills

• Excellent command over the language

• Strong research and multitasking skills

• Ability to work in a competitive environment

• Having an eye for detail and the ability to manage deadlines

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
