Description: Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.This role is in support of the 53K Heavy Lift Program. Two major responsibilities are:Requirements Lead:Responsible for the analysis and flow down of requirements allocated to Avionics/Electrical IPT (Integrated Product Team). Manages the requirements in all phases from allocation to a sub-IPT (Navigation, Comms, etc.), to allocation to supplier specifications. Responsible for monitoring compliance and verification of the requirements, monitoring test plans, and coordinating with software build schedules. Requires working closely with the sub-IPTs including the Software IPT.Issues Management:Responsible for running a weekly review board to adjudicate new issues as they arise, allocate issues to the proper sub-IPT, and track issues to resolution. Responsible for maintaining a database of these issues. Requires coordination with Executive issues board.Both of these tasks require coordination with other IPTs (Airframe, etc.) and the 53K Customer. In this role the engineer is also the Avionics representative to Aircraft Systems Engineering. The engineer will produce issue and compliance metrics and present them to program management.Basic Qualifications:Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.Desired Skills:Knowledge of Avionics systems in at least one of these areas: Communications, Navigation, Defense systems, Data Displays and Controls, Flight Management.Experience in analyzing and managing requirements.Experience with DOORS.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job.QualificationsLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
