Job Description:
Supplier Assessment Consultant
Role Summary/Purpose:
This role will gather and analyze information about suppliers with whom client has contracted for services.

The role includes supports the following areas of responsibility:
Review supplier contract for insurance requirements, note deviations from the standard
Assess supplier insurance certificates to validate effective dates and coverage amounts
Determine suppliers required to have Background Check programs via Inherent Risk Survey (IRS) and Treatment Strategy
Gather and analyze supplier data to determine the effectiveness of the employee background screening process
Identify suppliers relying on sub-contractors for essential support to provide their service offerings to Synchrony
Analyze supplier sub-contractor management program effectiveness
Raise an issue on the metric stream tool if assessment results are not in line with the contract terms and conditions
Responsible for managing the risks & issues for the process and creating any MS tickets to improve Supplier data
Maintain process documentation including Standard Operating Procedure, Reports, and Training/Job Aids
Maintain records stored in various team site locations such as SharePoint
Assist in Regulatory, Audit, and other requests for data and documentation.

Essential Responsibilities:
Work closely with the bank's Procurement team, supplier managers, and other stakeholders to gather supplier data regarding various risks incurred when the Bank contracts with a supplier to provide services.
Using data gathered from suppliers, conduct an assessment against Synchrony standards and procedures to identify supplier gaps and control failures. Document identified gaps and control failures to alert Procurement, Supplier Managers, and appropriate other functional management of concerns.
Analyze supplier data to identify trends within and across individual types of risk (ie Insurance, sub-contractors, background check etc.) and suppliers that may indicate broader problems. Provide analytics and recommendations to accompany reporting to leadership team.

Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree with minimum of 2+ years progressive experience in assessment of suppliers.
Working knowledge of Supplier Management due diligence tools like MetricStream, SAS VA, Nintex, Oracle Contract Database(OCDB) etc
Demonstrated attention to detail and good decision-making skills.
Strong knowledge of Advanced excel skills
Proficiency in MS office tools
Demonstrated experience working and communicating effectively with colleagues located in other countries and other Functions
Strong analytical skills and ability to summarize data analysis into insightful information with demonstrated experience
Demonstrated ability to evaluate and organize large quantities of written information to identify patterns or reinforcing signals
Worked on projects or aligned to a project as key contributor.
Success in achieving stretch goals with a strong work ethic, self-motivation, and a sense of both urgency and priority

Desired Characteristics:
3+ years work experience in regulated financial services, with familiarity with United States banking and consumer protection laws and regulations
Excellent relationship building skills across peer teams, functions, and key business stakeholders
Competent computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows as well as project planning and execution tools
Working Knowledge of reviewing contract database of suppliers engaged with client.
Project/Process management skills, with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines set by external events.
