Position Objective

Konica Minolta currently has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer!

The

Software Engineer - Infrastructure position is responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and growing applications developed by Konica Minolta's Solutions Engineering Center (SEC). Qualified candidates should have experience working with the latest versions of JavaScript (ES2015+), DevOps, and AWS services such as Lambda, S3, and DynamoDB. In addition to a strong technical background, the ideal candidate should show the ability to think critically, gather information, and problem solve in a team environment. As a member of a small team, the successful candidate will be able to play an important role in the evolution of the Konica Minolta MarketPlace while working with the latest technologies.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work in a small development team to complete assigned tasks by the specified deadline while following modern best practices for infrastructure design
  • Create technical specification documents for new features where relevant
  • Manage AWS infrastructure and configuration, including integration with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and Docker
  • Assist in the design, development, and deployment of new Lambda functions written in Node.js using the Serverless framework
  • Analyze, diagnose, and implement fixes for reported infrastructure issues
  • Schedule and execute system component upgrades
  • Monitor and evaluate system performance and identify and address potential bottlenecks


Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

What we expect to see:
  • Expert-level knowledge in modern JavaScript (ES2015+) and Node.js
  • Advanced knowledge of Git and Docker
  • Advanced knowledge of AWS services, especially Lambda, DynamoDB, Elastic Beanstalk, EC2, and CloudFormation
  • Proficient on Linux/Unix operating systems from a terminal
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Self-motivating and self-learning

  • Personal or Professional experience in Python and Go
  • Proficient with various web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari)
  • Experience developing for multiple browsers and devices
  • Open source code you are proud of


Experience, Educational Reqts and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related degree concentration & 8+ years of proven experience as a backend developer or infrastructure engineer
  • 2+ years of proven experience working on DevOps with continuous deployment to AWS
