About Capital Good Fund:
Capital Good Fund (Good Fund) is a social change organization with the mission to provide equitable financial services that create pathways out of poverty. As a non-profit, U.S. Treasury-certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), we offer low-income families one-on-one Financial & Health Coaching and personal loans of up to $25,000. Since our founding in 2009, we have financed 3,900 loans totaling over $7.9 million, and graduated over 1,000 people through our Financial Coaching program.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
The Customer Service Representative is a core member of the Lending Team who reports directly to the Senior Loan Officer and whose responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support Good Funds clients, and otherwise assist the Loan Origination team to achieve impact.
- Receive, transfer and report/record all incoming messages and documentation to the organization.
- Provide prompt, friendly, courteous and empathetic customer service to clients interested in both lending and coaching.
- Pre-screen interested clients on eligibility, and advise on next steps.
- Travel throughout the region to sustain and build networks and community partnerships.
- Present Good Fund services at community events or partner relation meetings.
- Be an excellent representative of Good Fund - our mission, products, and community
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Experience and success in customer service
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Able to connect and empathize with people of diverse backgrounds
- Comfortable communicating with clients who may be under pressure or are experiencing high levels of difficulty.
- Strong attention to detail; takes initiative and can work independently
- Must be prompt and have keen attention to timeliness and responsiveness
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Familiarity with the nonprofit sector and financial services
- Flexibility; willingness to adapt to a dynamic environment
Training and Compensation
The Customer Service Representative will receive extensive training on all of Good Funds systems, policies, procedures and loan products.
This is a full time forty hour-per-week position. The Customer Service Representative will earn an annual salary of $36,415 and five years of relevant experience will raise the salary to $40,015. In addition, the Customer Service Representative will receive a competitive benefits package that includes a 401(k) plan with an employer match of 2%, medical insurance with a $300/month employer subsidy, dental insurance fully covered by employer, 5 paid personal days per benefit year, 15 paid vacation days in the first year on staff, and the opportunity to apply for personal loans of up to $2,000 at 0% interest.
