Truck Dispatch Services
Our company is looking for a reliable Dispatcher to help find loads, schedule driver pickup and delivery to customers and vendors. The dispatcher will determine the best delivery methods and negotiate rates directly with Brokers, vendors and customers. The Dispatcher will be responsible for supporting Freight Brokers, Agents , Company drivers, contracted Truck Drivers and load consolidation. The dispatcher must have good knowledge of DAT, TruckStop, and other Dispatching Truck Load Boards. The successful candidate for this position needs to be able to adjust to last minute changes and work with drivers to schedule emergency pick-up or delivery for new or established brokers.
Dispatcher responsibilities
Use the DAT and Internet Truckstop load boards in finding loads for drivers daily
Negotiate, book, coordinate and manage the most efficient loads to remain cost-effective as a company
Be responsible for keeping records, monitoring driver daily routes, working hours and equipment availability.
Act as a communication liaison by answering incoming phone calls from Brokers and drivers on the road.
Monitor any sudden delivery changes and work with drivers to establish timely deliveries.
Dispatcher skills
High school diploma/GED required
Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays
Strong knowledge on how to dispatch semi-trucks throughout North East and Mid-west region.
Ability to work in a team environment in high-pressure situations
Strong written and oral communication skills are essential
Previous dispatching or Customer Service Representative experience a plus.
