Controls Division in the Office of Financial Management.Learn more about this agencyResponsibilitiesThe incumbent applies knowledge of FAA accounting principles, and

applications to perform audit liaison functions to include

coordinating the identification of transactions to test required

data elements, supporting documentation, and coordination of Notice

of Findings. Analyzes internal, and external audit findings

corrective action plans to prepare analyses, and recommends

solutions adjustments to the plans. Documents agency business

processes and control activities through research, review, analysis,

and coordination with responsible offices. Conducts internal control

policies and procedures, and the expenditure of assigned resources.Represents the LOB as a principal point of contact to provide

advice, and guidance on the application of policies, and procedures.

Formulates, and recommend to senior management positions on major

projects/policies/issues. Prepares, reviews, and recommends

approvals of major reports on projects, programs and other work

activities for internal, and external distribution. Develops

briefings to convey strategic vision and/or organization policies to

internal and external audiences.Provides expert guidance and instruction both internally and

externally to address diverse, complex issues which often cross

multiple projects, program, and/or functional areas. Develop and

recommends approaches to address current and anticipated problems

and issues. Works with senior management to identify and resolve

problems.Work is typically reviewed only at completion for success in

achieving planned results. Has broad discretion to ensure the

alignment of organizational goals, policies, and the requirements of

QualificationsCandidates must have one year (52 weeks) of SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

in this standard. Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted,

generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.")

OR

Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of

experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of

accounting experience, college-level education, and training

that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's

background must also include oneof the following:

Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of

appropriate type and quality. This can include up to 6 hours of

business law;

A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified

Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination; or

Completion of the requirements for a degree that included

substantial course work in accounting or auditing, e.g., 15

semester hours, but that does not fully satisfy the

24-semester-hour requirement of paragraph A, provided that (a)

the applicant has successfully worked at the full-performance

level in accounting, auditing, or a related field, e.g.,

valuation engineering or financial institution examining; (b) a

panel of at least two higher level professional accountants or

auditors has determined that the applicant has demonstrated a

good knowledge of accounting and of related and underlying

fields that equals in breadth, depth, currency, and level of

advancement that which is normally associated with successful

completion of the 4-year course of study described in paragraph

A; and (c) except for literal nonconformance to the requirement

of 24 semester hours in accounting, the applicant's education,

training, and experience fully meet the specified requirements.

0510 occupational series, you are not required to submit a

college transcript provided you upload a copy of the SF-50,

Notification of Personnel Action, verifying your classification

in the 0510 occupational series.
