Position Overview:

• The primary objective of this position is to provide software development and maintenance, robust customer support, and ensuring optimum system availability of the applications. The systems that are being supported and developed include complex financial algorithms and functions, so an understanding of financial and mathematical concepts is required. The current technology environment resides in a cloud environment and consists of both Windows and Linux hosts. This environment consists of software technologies such as Subversion, Jboss, Java, Apache Tomcat, and Apache ANT. In addition JAVA, FORTRAN, SQL Plus, Oracle, and Apache Tomcat. The application user-interface code and a subset of the business logic which facilitate the management of the life cycle of the loan are written in Java. Presently, a subset of the business logic providing process automation and ledger processing is written in a combination of Java, SQL, ProFortran, and Fortran.

Responsibilities:

• In support of Application maintenance this position will:
  • Respond to help desk issues, writing up defects, providing development, and testing of modifications.
  • Respond to general application maintenance support tasks are required on an as needed basis.
  • Deliver incrementally developed, tested, and approved updates as required to software and hardware as specified; a portion of the business knowledge will involve financial concepts, algorithms, and accounting.

• In support of Application Development this position will:
  • perform software engineering and coding following industry best practices and guidance from the FFB tailored to support the specific activities.
  • provide Java application coding and development support required to provide functionality for the systems; this work will be directed and defined by the Backlog.
  • Communicate prioritization of any development or coding effort and the addition or removal of items from the Backlog to the Project Manager.
  • Assist in ensuring each development effort shall include detailed written requirements, a requirements walk-through, a coding period, test case development, a code walk through with an FFB IT representative, demonstration of resulting LMCS and FLCS changes, and user acceptance of changes.
  • Be responsible for migrating new code to the code repository library to facilitate new production releases and change control processing.
  • Ensure any new development or code that will affect user screens must follow existing provisions for Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. The Contractor will be required to perform testing in accordance with Section 508 and issue reports to the government, as needed, evidencing the successful completion of testing.

• In support of System Testing and Test Case Maintenance
  • shall assist in developing and testing for any application development effort or modification that occurs.
  • shall ensure new test cases are documented and placed in the Test Case and code repository
  • shall assist in identifying and documenting baseline data, date of creation, name, test criteria, and name of tester for each required test case.
  • Shall assist in developing a Section 508 Test Plan within 60 days of Task Order award that will outline the testing to be performed to ensure that any code that will affect user screens is compliant with the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
  • Shall assist with testing in accordance with the Section 508 Test Plan and issue reports to the government, as needed, evidencing the successful completion of testing.
  • may also be required to work with the Government to develop and execute test plans and test cases for development work (e.g. code refactoring/re-architecting effort).

Job Requirements:

• 6-10 years of Financial Systems experience including: ProFortran/Fortran and control language (DCL), Java, Jboss, SQL, Subversion & Apache ANT
• Provide Java application coding and development expertise sufficient to provide new functionality for the software applications.
• Expertise with Software Development and Collaboration Tools: intermediate or advanced competency is preferred in Atlassian tools such as Bamboo, Bitbucket and Bitbucket Server, Confluence, and Jira.
