Favor TechConsulting, LLC (FTC) is seeking a talented Computer Security Specialist with government experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Role Overview:
    FTC supports the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics (DOL BLS) by providing IT Support services. This position will be part of a team responsible for providing support on the execution of computer security activities, running their cyber-security program, including computer security incident detection and response, threat analysis and mitigation, vulnerability assessment, and computer forensics
  • Responsibilities:
    • As required, responsible for the operation and maintenance of computer security tools and systems. Examples of these tools are BigFix, MS SCCM, MS WSUS, ForeScout, and remote management tools like Dameware and Remote Desktop.
    • As required, runs manual and automated processes to assess systems and/or networks for security vulnerabilities, analyzes results, and offers recommendations.
    • As required, performs threat analysis and investigates mitigation solutions.
    • As required, assists in the evaluation and development of improvements to existing security capabilities.
    • As required, analyzes security event data (both user-reported and system-generated) and determines necessary responsive actions including performing computer forensic analysis.
    • Produces written technical reports and/or develops presentations on computer security activities.
    • As required, trains other staff in use of security tools and techniques.

Required Skills & Experience

  • One (1) year of experience providing technical support on an enterprise environment with over 500 users using configuration management tools like Microsoft

    SCCM and

    WSUS,

    IBM

    BigFix, ForeScout, Tenable Nessus scanner, etc.
  • One (1) year of experience being responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and use - or evaluation - of industry standard information security technology products (such as IDS/IPS, SIEM/SEM, VPN, Splunk, forensic tools, and/or vulnerability management, compliance, penetration testing solutions).
  • One (1) year of experience with Microsoft Windows client operative system scripting, deployment and troubleshooting, and COTS installation and troubleshooting.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a network environment performing computer security activities such as incident analysis and response, threat analysis and mitigation, vulnerability assessment, or computer forensics.
