JOB SUMMARY:

Business Operational Concepts (BOC) is currently seeking an IT Solutions Architect to work with our government client. The ideal candidate for this position will serve as a Solutions Architect within the Agency s Production Operations and Infrastructure (PO&I) Support Office. The candidate will be able to span into many disciplines of technology, design, operations and implementation. The Solutions Architect works with Agency executives and technical subject matter experts to determine business and technical requirements, and is tasked with developing, designing, proposing and if approved implementing innovative solutions for the enterprise.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary responsibilities of this position are related to the architecture and design of infrastructure solutions and standards in the Production Operations and Infrastructure (PO&I) Support Office. Some of the specific responsibilities of this role include:

Provide technical subject matter expertise and direction of assigned engineering tasks, including designing/acquiring/installing/configuring/maintaining/operations testing equipment and testing environments.

Provide subject matter expertise in designing and architecting solutions for hardware, software, workflows, etc.

Evaluate and test Government and/or Commercial Off-The-Shelf (GOTS/COTS) software and hardware products and solutions, including development and engineering tools and provide recommendations based on leading and emerging trends in similar products/tools/techniques.

Provide technical reports and presentations as required for recommended testing of products/tools/techniques.

Formulate clear risk management strategies and engage appropriate stakeholders for input and approval.

Gain organizational commitment for enterprise level architecture and infrastructure initiatives.

Support the tracking, reporting, and remediation of agency Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms)



Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required (Minimum) Qualifications Education, Certification, Experience, and Skills

Bachelor s Degree and/or equivalent certifications or military work-related experience

8+ years of experience in large enterprise engineering environments, enterprise architecture, technology evaluation/advisory groups

Provide engineering leadership in design and implementation of infrastructure solutions, strategies and technologies

Architect level knowledge and hands-on experience with some combination of storage, compute, cloud, and virtualization technologies

Knowledgeable about federal guidelines for implementing solutions (FISMA, NIST, FEDRAMP, etc)

Knowledgeable about current and possible future IT trends and technology

Possesses strong IT, planning, and financial knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment

Experience with Physical and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure

Experience in Windows, Linux, and Apple environments

Experience with Data Center Operations

Strong written and oral communications, especially in the context of making complex engineering concepts and tasks understandable to non-technical audiences and end customers.

Ability to create and maintain technical documentation.

o Cisco Networking, Router, Switches

o MS Stack including Office 365, Skype for Business, MS Exchange and MS System Center (SCOM, SCCM)

o Active Directory

o MS SQL, Oracle, etc

o IaaS, PaaS Azure

Strong technical aptitude and quick learning aptitude.

ITIL v3 Foundations certification

ITIL v3 Service Operation Intermediate certification

ITIL v3 Service Design Intermediate certification

Comptia Security+

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Public Trust or the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. (Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.)
