RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Washington, DC that is seeking a Project Manager - Publishing IT. In this role, the Project Manager - Publishing IT will serve as Project Manager, utilizing and adhering to Project Management best practices and established department policies.

Responsibilities:
The Project Manager - Publishing IT will ensure development and distribution of quality project-related documentation to all interested parties, including project plan and schedule, project charter, communications plan, requirements document, design document, deployment plan, test plan, maintenance transition plan, and notification of project end
Scope and allocate resources for assigned projects based on historical information, input from other staff, and general understanding of project tasks
Hold project meetings internally and externally to ensure proper level of project-related communication, including project kickoff meeting to establish/confirm roles, regularly scheduled project team meetings to track progress, stakeholder meetings to provide status, post-implementation meeting with customers to ensure that project criteria have been fully met, and lessons learned meeting to gather feedback for use in future projects
Provide high-quality customer service to clients
The Project Manager - Publishing IT will ensure measures are taken in projects to increase quality and mitigate risks, including risk analysis, impact assessment, needs assessment, requirements signoff, code reviews, test planning and execution, fallback plans, and deployment plans

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
PMI and Scrum Master certificate preferred
Minimum of 5 years of overall project management experience with large, complex projects
Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing software development projects in a large organization
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams
Thorough understanding of project management methodologies and practices
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work closely with customers to complete projects
