The company is seeking an experienced front-end developer with UI experience to contribute to a visionary SaaS (software-as-a-service) educational platform that will change an entire profession and play a positive role in the careers of hundreds of thousands of people in the first few years alone. This person will work with a software architect, a team of engineers, and vendors, playing a critical role as part of a new team. The people behind War on the Rocks form a tight-knit culture. A team ethos and exceptional communication skills are therefore critical.

Requirements

We are looking for a talented front-end developer to create user-driven web applications for our visionary educational product. As a front-end developer, you will be responsible for the development of front-end applications that meet the needs of the user. In this role, you will meet with team members to discuss application features, create working application prototypes, and write the code for the final website design.

Skills and Experience

• 5+ years' experience with expertise in technologies like HTML/Sass/Less/CSS
• 4+ years of experience with React framework, Vue.js or years' experience with modern JS
• Familiarity with automated testing tools including Selenium, Jasmine, and Karma.
• In-depth knowledge of user interface models, application design, and website functionality.
• Responsive design tools like Bootstrap, Flexbox, and/or CSS grid.
• Familiarity with prototyping tools.
• Familiarity with relevant frameworks and databases.
• Familiarity with API interactions.
• Knowledge of graphic design software including CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.
• Experience with graphic design and web design.
• Understanding of, and experience working in, a cloud-based environment (AWS).
• Advanced problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
