SUMMARY:
Analytics and Information Management is responsible for the analysis, monthly/yearly finance forecasts, invoice management, and support for financial solutions that address AIM department needs. The position requires collaborating with the procurement, finance teams to serve Amtrak's financial needs.
The resource works with respective project/program manager to understand the project financial requirements to produce monthly forecasts and update monthly ATIC and weekly status reports. The solutions must be aligned with IT strategies and in compliance with the organization's financial standards

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Deliver status reports, financial forecasts for projects to provide insights into budgets vs actuals and help drive business decisions
  • Proficiency in using data analysis and computer-based tools including Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Expert knowledge of budgeting processes¸ financial management practices and acquisition principles.
  • Ability to multi-task with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, across organizational boundaries to reach mutual goals.
  • Proven analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of management, external agencies, departments and stakeholders.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.
  • Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in IT, Analytics, Information Management, program/project management or other related field
  • Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status at minimum.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Experience with or keen interest in Project/Program management
