As one of the fastest growth wealth management firms in the country, we’re expanding quickly and are now looking for a Data Scientist to help organize our data, uncover insights, and conduct research.The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, enjoys gleaning information from data, and is excited to work in the wealth management industry. Prior experience working with large datasets and writing SQL code is very helpful. The Data Scientist will work across business units and will report to the Head of Investments.The Profile We’re Looking ForCandidates should be skilled at analyzing, managing, and interpreting data, specifically related to financial services and investing. In addition to managing our data and reporting, the candidate will be conducting research in a variety of topics to support our wealth managers, investment team, and business development team. The candidate will:
Help develop and manage standardized reporting for business units across wealth management
Write original code in python, SQL, and R to aid in data analysis
Work with the Investments team to conduct research for white papers and articles
Collaborate with the engineering team to help automate our reporting process
Uncover insights about our clients from data stored in Salesforce, SQL, and Orion
Help wealth managers report on engagement, investment, and planning metrics
Prepare reports and materials for investment committee meetings
Produce analysis for executive-level briefings
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
At least 1 year of experience in at least one scripting language
At least 1 year of experience in querying and analyzing and working with data languages and platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of professional wok experience, preferably in financial services or consulting
Ability to learn business processes and understand the role data and analytics plays in supporting the business
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including simplifying complex analytics
Demonstrated experience conducting academic-quality research and summarizing findings into actionable next steps
Self-motivated, able to be hands-on when analyzing, interpreting, and deriving insights
SQL experience, writing and editing queries
Salesforce experience preferred
Orion experience preferred
Very high attention to detail
