We are seeking an Automation Specialist to work in support of a federal government program for automation capabilities in a DoD/USAF environment. This position requires expertise using Ansible. The Specialist position requires experience supporting Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (Paas) solutions. Prior experience supporting USAF technology is preferred. Ability to work remote within U.S., but must be able to work on-site in Washington, DC one week per month.
Role and responsibilities include:
Support lead architecture team to define, build and operate infrastructure and application automation capabilities
Identify automation requirements and gaps in cloud native tooling
Define infrastructure requirements as code models and deployment processes
Identify automation products and set up the environment for continuous testing and delivery of automation playbooks for IaaS provisioning and maintenance functions
Create and manage an automation platform roadmap and the implementation of COTS based products
Requirements include:
U.S. Citizenship
Current security clearance (at a minimum a favorable T3 or NAC) and ability to obtain a secret level
Bachelor's degree preferred
7+ years of experience working with computing software automation tools in a shared services environment is preferred
Experience using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning in a shared service environment
Experience with extending automation capabilities (prior work with approved Air Force application stacks is preferred)
Experience supporting PaaS solutions for base assessments and application determinations
Experience with Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure cloud environments
Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC metro area one week per month
