Work you'll do
  • Implement risk management programs for our federal clients by utilizing NIST, RMF, and FISMA compliance frameworks.
  • Enhance cyber awareness with clients and project teams.
  • Work alongside federal clients to help them mitigate risk with the use of continuous monitoring and incident response.
  • Establish security controls to ensure protection of client systems.
  • Implement cutting edge security tools for our federal clients.
  • Seeking a practitioner to support the VA's software factory initiative. This role can be part time or full time. Initial ramp-up period will start slow with expectations of this growing as time progresses. This person will be responsible for:
  • Analyze VA's current ATO process and align that with the software factory's initiative.
  • Interface with the client and help strategize and develop a plan and roadmap for how they will achieve a continuous ATO in their software factory platform.
  • Help plan out steps, solutions, resourcing requirements for achieving a fully automated security process around agile development.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math major
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role
  • Experience working with RMF and NIST 800-53
  • Experience working with cyber security tools
  • Experience with cyber awareness (e.g., phishing emails, cyber trainings)
  • Strong technical background in containerization, ci/cd pipelines, general cybersecurity depth.
  • Comfort engaging and conducting subject matter expert interviews / technology foraging discussions
  • Strong understanding of RMF/ATO process
  • Knowledge and experience with cybersecurity emerging technologies and DevSecOps principles
  • Knowledge and experience with key cybersecurity principles and concepts such as the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) / NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), network security, confidentiality, integrity, availability
  • A passion for emerging technology and determining its applicability to clients
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust
  • Experience in collaborating with senior technical leaders on cloud security architecture
  • 3+ years' leading the direction on security architecture in cloud and/or on premise•
  • 1+ years' exposure to containerization and container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes
  • 5+ years' experience with Government Authorization frameworks and control standards
  • 10+ years' experience in implementing technology and security solutions


Preferred:
  • Prior professional services or federal consulting experience
  • Certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP
  • Experience in architecting deployment orchestration, automation, and security configuration
  • Knowledge of concepts in securing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) with Service Mesh
  • Cloud Intrusion Detection, Protection and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
  • Experience architecting cloud security following DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide
  • Experience with DoD Software Factory in the security domain
  • Knowledge of cloud-native/cloud-friendly authentication/identity technologies
