Potomac Valley Thunder Girls Basketball is an all-girls Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball organization based in the Bethesda-Rockville area. Formed in the spring of 2012, the Potomac Valley Thunder is comprised of young female athletes representing the best youth basketball in the DC-MD-VA area. Our teams range from 3rd grade up to high school grades.
Due to our tremendous success and growth, we are looking to add positive role models to fill the following coaching positions:
- Coaches for 4th Grade Team
- Assistant Coach for 6th Grade Team
- Assistant Coach for 7th Grade Team
- Additional Head Coaches for Fall 2019
Each team's coaching staff is supported by parent volunteers who assume administrative roles such as Team Manager, Treasurer, etc. so the coaching staff can focus on coaching and not administrative functions. Coaches will be supported by the PVT leadership staff with the opportunity to participate in professional development opportunities.
Successful coaching candidates must have playing and/or coaching experience and be able to attend and run two practices per week (typically Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-8:00pm, 7:00 - 8:30pm, or 7:30 - 9:00pm in the Bethesda area). Games will be played on weekends, but will be scheduled based on coaches and players availability.
