Overview

Mistaken Identity Foundation is looking for a freelance contractor who is a seasoned professional trainer or coach who can relate to, and engage with, young adults regarding social and emotional awareness during a 3-day workshop. The curriculum is provided, so only a desire to inspire and motivate is needed to have a successful workshop.

The Coach must be a mentor eager to support their fellow people. They must be able to discover peoples strengths and weaknesses and help guide them through potential challenges in a manner that works best for increasing their ability to obtain and maintain a job. Having excellent communication skills partnered with approach-ability are prerequisites for this job.

Primary responsibilities:

Providing a monthly group style Social and Emotional Awareness 3-day Workshops utilizing an interactive workbook

Delivery of an integrated service coaching model that compliments the clients career pathways support system

Support and collaboration with the clients onsite workforce development team as well the executive Director for Mistaken Identity.

In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Coach must possess the following qualifications:

Type of Education:

Degree in Social Work, Education or related field preferred

Type of Experience and Number of Years:

Minimum 3-years of proven training, coaching or teaching skills

Minimum 3-years working with youth or young adults

Ability to engage an audience

Ability to inspire, motivate and listen

Ability to understand and respect diversity

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Deep knowledge of instructional practices that promote supportive learning environments and build social and emotional skills

Knowledge of young adult learning styles and best practices for coaching and providing

feedback

Ability to develop respectful professional relationships and build trust with onsite client team members

Cultural competency and ability to navigate and promote sensitivity with issues of race

and equity

Strong time management and interpersonal skills

Passion and urgency for the critical role of Social and Emotional Awareness training for improving the lives of young adults in Prince Georges County Maryland

Other Requirements:

Must possess a valid U.S. Drivers License and permanent use of an automobile

Ability to work as a freelance contractor (1099)

Ability to commit to a 1-year contract

Ability to incorporate this monthly workshop into your current schedule (training is usually the 2nd week of the month)

Willing to sign a non-compete agreement
