Bilingual medical assistant for internal medicine practice (downtown Silver Spring)
Part-time temporary position, 20 hours per week for 5 weeks
Start date: Tuesday April 30, 2019 End Date: Saturday June 1, 2019
Hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 8:45 am to 12:45 pm.
Compensation: $15 per hour
Requirements:
- Diploma or certificate in Medical Assisting
- Fluent in both English and Spanish
- Good people skills
- Able to take vital signs and do simple procedures like dip stick urinalysis, pregnancy test
- Arrives strictly on time
- Accurate and detail-oriented
- Good handwriting
Tasks: Answer the phone and take messages, make appointments online, register patients, verify patient eligibility, do vital signs and simple procedures as needed, serve as chaperone during female exams, discharge patients, translate for Spanish-only speaking patients, fill out forms involving the use of medical terms, process and file confidential documents and medical records, assist in cleaning office, and other office/clerical tasks as assigned.
