Paid healthcare externship in private Internal Medicine Practice nr. Foggy Bottom. Extern would be trained to obtain medical histories using an EMR system, perform vital signs, EKGs, Pulmonary Function Evaluation, scan medical documents, make appointments, triage patients and confirm appointments. This position is designed for someone interested in going to medical school who is taking a year off or someone pursuing the healthcare sciences such as MPH, PA or other related fields. An extern will gain many practical skills in this position. The following are the requirements of the position:
1. Candidate must have at least 3 full uninterrupted weekday days each week.
2. Candidate must possess at least a 3.4 cumulative grade point average
3. Candidate must be able to make at least a one year commitment
4. Candidate must be skilled in writing and skilled with the use of computers
5. Candidate must be able to work in a team concept and work well with fellow staff.
Ideal for candidates who are applying to medical school or who are pursuing a career such as MPH or PA.
