Aloha all,
My client is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer for a regular, full time position to be located at the company's satellite office in Herndon, VA. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and articulate, have a professional experience with web services like Apache/Tomcat or equivalent, Agile software development practices, and related software technologies and have a proven history of using administrative tools and automating routine administration tasks that will be servicing the DoD and VA.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced systems administrator or engineer looking to work for a successful DoD Contractor with a strong list of queued projects.
Some of the desired skills are the following:
Experience administering web services on Linux using Apache/Tomcat/Oracle
Fluent in AWS CLI
Experience with high availability and scalability in AWS
Fluent in Linux (RedHat/CentOS/Amazon) administration & shell scripting (BASH)
Comfortable with one of the programming/scripting languages: Python or Ruby
If you have worked professionally as an engineer in an AWS environment but don't have all the skills listed above, my client is willing to train - character is definitely more important than competence.
