This is an exciting position on Capitol Hill that will build and modernize systems that assist our elected representatives in fulfilling their legislative responsibilities. You will be working alongside Federal client staff and other contractors to do application development; systems engineering and perform support operations.

JOB SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The ideal candidate for this position meets the requirements of the position, is personable, and can work in a cross-functional team using an agile framework. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a necessity. Responsibilities:

Design and develop backend services using NodeJS and .NET, as well as frontend user screens using Angular/React.

Conduct testing, debugging, and documentation.

Assist with requirements gathering and user story creation.

Participate in database design, data loading using scripts, and performance tuning.

Create and maintain unit tests and automated regression tests.

Assist/Review load tests to identify bottlenecks and latency issues, and determining technical solutions to performance issues.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Must be flexible, able to work in a highly collaborative environment, and work independently and collaboratively as needed. Work onsite at the client site in Washington DC (initially remote due to Covid19 but onsite later in 2020). Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and superior interpersonal skills are a must.

Federal Government experience as a contractor

5+ Years experience in the following:

Leading development teams as the Senior engineer on projects

Agile methodologies

CI/CD pipeline implementations

Working independently and in a team environment, providing guidance to more junior developers on the team.

Experience engaging with stakeholders and gathering requirements

3+ Years experience with full MEAN stack development (MongoDB, Node.js, Angular and/or React)

Solid oral and written communications skills

Desired Qualifications

Experience with the following

Developing legislative systems and/or working with legislative data

Developing live video streaming applications with supporting content

Developing electronic filing web applications and systems

Developing APIs on Azure

Developing responsive design web sites/applications using CSS, Bootstrap (or similar frameworks)

Node.js unit testing tools

Elasticsearch

.NET (web forms and MVC), and experience building and maintaining system data models/schemas

Federal Government experience as a contractor

EDUCATION

- Undergraduate Degree (in in computer science, engineering or related field) highly desired but can be substituted with 2 additional years of experience

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

- Work location is downtown Washington D.C. (Remote during current pandemic situation)

- US Citizenship required by the client

- Successfully obtain and retain a U.S. Federal Public Trust clearance prior to start.

- Candidates who are not in the Washington DC area should not apply. This position is for a Federal client, and requires onsite presence at our client site in Washington DC.
