Seeking Auto Tech B , C level , (General Auto Service Tech) & State and Emissions inspector license
This Auto tech & Inspector position is with an well established local automotive repair shop business located in Burke, Fairfax , Virginia.
We are family owned and operated. We are currently looking to add top-quality members to our team in Burke Fairfax VA
VA Inspector QUALIFICATIONS
Have and maintain a valid driver’s license
Have and maintain Virginia State Safety and Emissions Inspection licenses
Ability to work efficiently in a busy shop environment with a smile and positive attitude
Ability to spot preventive maintenance needs
DUTIES
Perform a quick digital multi-point inspection
Perform Virginia State Safety Inspections according to State Police Guidelines
Perform emissions tests on vehicles according to Virginia DEQ Guidelines
Recommend services and perform minor repairs upon customer’s approval
Auto Tech Responsibilities:
• Performing work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with independent shop
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc
• Communicating directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executing repairs under manufacturer specifications
Job Requirements
• Must have at least 2 years of experience as an auto technician
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
• Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
• A fast learner
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Team Player
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must pass background check and drug screening
Skills/Qualifications
• Ability to identify problems quickly
• Good knowledge of automobiles
• Effective analytical and communication skills
• Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
• Should be able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
