OverviewThe BenefitsAnalyst serves as the primary point of contact for financial and insurance program data analyses and recommendations. The Analyst will be responsible for developing, editing, and quality review of data that pertains to moderate and complex benefits programs consisting of group medical, dental, life, vision, disability, etc. Working within a team environment, this professional position requires the ability to work effectively and independently with carriers’ underwriting rates, guidelines and complex financial and claim reporting, leading the generation of benefit comparison spreadsheets and crafting strategic recommendations based upon the data with which they work.If you are looking for a career that allows you to learn, grow, and achieve at the highest level, then you’ve come to the right place. Create all Request For Proposal (RFP) documents to go out to the full range of carriers applicable to the clients’ benefits portfolio.

Utilize independent, critical thinking to analyze carrier responses to RFP’s, request alternate options, and select best recommendations for Clients.

Prepare renewal presentations outlining current and renewal benefits and rates compared to the alternate options that you have selected to recommend to the Client.

Present renewals and recommendations to Small Group Clients.

Compile, analyze and interpret employee benefits and financial information, accurately and with attention to details.

Ensure accurate information is always being presented to clients.

Monitor the group’s claims experience and utilization reports, routinely reporting the findings.

Prepare synopsis of your analysis of financial reports to be sent to clients.

Continuously update benefit and rate comparison spreadsheet templates to provide most thorough analysis for Client.

Develop spreadsheets for employer contribution scenarios.

Proactively prepare pre-renewal presentations.

Proactively request and organize Client census information and renewals.

Prepare and finalize Policy Reference Manual for each new Client within the first 15 days of the effective date.

Update Agency Management System with Client’s policy information.

Execute group applications and plan documents within the designated timeline.

Review final certificates of coverage (SPD, COC) and summary of benefits coverage (SBC)

Utilize checklists for each Client as needed.

Collaborate with cross-department team members to assist with providing guidance and best practices regarding benefit service and strategies targeted to enhance client experience.

Ensure Gen4 and Cloud files are updated daily; documentation should include client requests and status of completion.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree is preferredor equivalent experience

Minimum of 2 years of professional experience working in finance, accounting, audit, data analysis, insurance or in a position which requires a heavy emphasis on and skill in working with financial data is required.

Benefits experience preferred with basic knowledge of employee benefits programs and various lines of insurance coverage and current service trends.

Basic knowledge of the Affordable Care Act, employee benefits laws and obligations as related to benefits administration preferred.

Strong analytical capacity including a considerable proficiency in mathematics and critical thinking.

Acute attention to detail, accuracy anddemonstrated strong prooing skills.

Self-motivated and proactive.

Possess strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-pace and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

Ability to provide customer service by phone and in-person.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

Additional experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Valid Florida Life, Health & Variable Annuities 2-15 license or the ability to obtain one within first 90 days of employment is required.

Prior experience in the Insurance or Employee Benefits/Human Resources industry is highly preferred.

Valid driver’s license is required.
