The Orthodontics Team Manager is responsible for the direct oversight and management of the orthodontic team while ensuring exceptional patient care is provided and company policies, standards of care and operational procedures are applied consistently across a territory of orthodontic specialty offices. The manager will work with the orthodontist, orthodontic team members, office managers, dental staff and support teams to drive new ortho starts and grow the orthodontic and Clear Aligner specialty business. The manager will ensure exceptional patient care is provided to all orthodontic patients by hiring, coaching and developing strong, well-trained orthodontic team members. The manager will drive all efforts that help build orthodontic production and collections revenue. The manager will be successful with optimizing patient schedules, coordinating orthodontic team members work schedules, developing relationships among all levels of team members and be resourceful in solving problems and implementing progressive processes and solutions to meet future business needs. This role will also ensure orthodontic supply orders are placed on time and within budget, and will assist with coordinating equipment repair, as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the orthodontic line of business to drive revenue and collections.

Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with specialty providers, specialty team members, office staff, district manager and regional vice president.

Establish and maintain monthly orthodontic specialty assistant schedules and communicate and coordinate as necessary any changes to the practice and district management that may impact the business or patient care.

Coordinate and assist in movement of specialty equipment and supplies.

Collaborate with orthodontic providers and assistants to ensure supply orders are placed and processed in accordance with company policy and within the business plan.

Lead in the orthodontic team member interview and hiring process.

Review daily orthodontic production schedules with operational stakeholders and ensure staffing is appropriate and expenses are controlled.

Coach, train and direct team members, utilizing standard operating policies and company processes and procedures.

Apply the company employee relations policies in all interactions with employees.

Coach and develop teamwork in the practices.

Ensure good housekeeping and organization.

Assist with provider credentialing status as needed.

Review and fully understand the business KPIs, Production, AR and Ortho Live Day Results and reporting and analyze the reporting metrics and information to implement solutions, training or change to improve revenue, collections and ortho specialty operations.

Ensure month-end physical inventory of supplies are conducted accurately. Conduct spot audits of supplies and equipment to identify and correct issues, including preventing shrinkage and waste and disposal of expired materials.

Conduct or ensure completion of safety audits in assigned practices.

Perform patient chart and account audits to ensure proper documentation and forms are in in place in accordance with company policies, standards and dental board regulations and statutes.

Additional projects and/or responsibilities, as assigned.

Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems software including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to travel within assigned territory.- All of the East Florida coast as well as Orlando region

Experience with dental software

Qualifications (Experience, Education, Licensure, Certification)

A minimum of five years (5) years of dental management supervisory experience or a minimum of four years (4) of experience in a lead clinical dental position and three years (3) of management experience. Experience managing orthodontics or other specialties is preferred.

Four-year degree preferred or equivalent years of work experience.

Demonstrated clinical knowledge with the ability to successfully lead productive teams to reach assigned goals.

Experience with coaching and training multi-unit/multi-practice staff.

Clean driving record with reliable transportation and ability to travel within assigned area of offices.

Ability to work flexible hours including early morning and evening hours with some weekends required.

Working Conditions

The Orthodontics Team Manager works independently and, on the road, a good deal of the time. Field office visits make up a good portion of the job role.
