Front Desk Supervisor Job Description

General Purpose of the Job

The Front Desk Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the operation of the Guest Services, Guest Communications in an attentive, friendly, efficient and courteous manner, providing all guests with quality service prior to and throughout their stay, while maximizing room revenue and occupancy.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Reports to General Manager

Supervision of front desk staff, ensuring employees conduct business in accordance with company policies, as well as coach counseling employees who are in violation of company policy.

Provide excellent guest service skills and must adhere to the GUEST acronym at all times! (Greet, Undivided Attention, Enthusiastic Response, Smile, and Thank Guest at All Times Without Exception!)

Training of new employees, as well as training of current employees, as new procedures are introduced.

Compile front desk staff meeting topics for submission to resort manager, as well as organize and conduct monthly staff meetings.

Assisting Resort Manager with all aspects of front office daily business (administrative work, recruiting, scheduling, payroll) as needed.

Working alongside front desk agents as needed (i.e. assisting with check-in/out)

Respond to all guests’ requests, problems, complaints and/or accidents presented at the Front Desk.

Assist with annual employee evaluations

Learn night audit functions along with Shift 3, and be able to run audit independently if needed.

Assist with placing of inventory and waitlist

Evaluate procedures and implement changes to enhance guest service/satisfaction.

Must have knowledge of all front desk agent functions and responsibilities.

Monitor proper operation of the P.B.X. console and ensure that employees maintain Tropic Shores standard operating policy in its use.

Ensure staff greet and welcome all guests approaching the Front Desk in accordance with Tropic Shores standard operating policy.

Responsible for making sure all activity equipment is signed out properly and returned.

Cross-train with all departments functions in order to cover during absences.

Responsible for making sure all front desk shifts are covered.

Able to work a flexible schedule and be on call 24 hours a day in an emergency.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Resort Manager.

Employee must possess excellent customer service skills and consistently adhere to the G.U.E.S.T. service standards.

Excellent knowledge of computers

Employee must be knowledgeable of all Tropic Shores policies/procedures as they pertain to the front desk.

Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.

Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.

Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.

Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.

Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-orientated manner.

Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.

Minimum of two (2) years front desk experience

Possess strong organizational skills

Must possess a strong ability for staff motivation and teamwork

Must be able to quickly master new techniques as they are introduced and effectively train staff on new procedures.

Work with limited support

High school diploma or equivalent

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
