Job Summary: Do you live and breathe MYSQL/MariaDB? Are you also a proficient PHP developer? If so, you may be just what we are looking for! This position is a hybrid MYSQL/MariaDB DBA + PHP Developer role on our Database Administration Team. Our Database Administration Team is responsible for several enterprise-level systems that exclusively utilize MariaDB. This role involves enterprise-level DBA/DB Maintenance work on our systems, in addition to doing PHP development on behalf of the Database Team. DBA maintenance tasks are what one would expect in an large scale MariaDB environment, with multiple (separate) systems under management, with lots of interesting challenges to solve. The PHP development work in this role will generally be related to optimizing specific types of system PHP code, which is initially implemented by our Platform Development Team. PHP optimization efforts are focused on fine tuning PHP code interaction with our Enterprise Databases. The right candidate will be a strong PHP developer who has experience with, and gets intellectual stimulation from optimizing queries that interact with large MariaDB Databases; also assists in the day to day support work required to keep those databases online and happy 24/7!
Job Responsibility: · Strong Front End PHP programming skills (HTLM5, CSS, Javascript) · Strong SQL programming (including Triggers, Stored Procedures) · Strong Linux server administration skills · Bash scripting and basic programming skills · Troubleshoot and resolve database problems · Query performance review and analysis, and provide improvements · Create complex and efficient reports. Knowledge of Analytics, OLAP, data warehousing and ETL process a plus. · Experience using Jira/Confluence · Understanding of MariaDB replication models including statement based, row based, and GTID replication. -Perform other duties and projects as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, computer science, engineering, or related field Certification with MySQL (from Oracle) or MariaDB a plus
Must have three to four recent years of MySQL or MariaDB server database experience
Must have three to four recent years in PHP programming is a must (Laravel is a plus)
Proven working experience as a Database administration with MySQL/MariaDB
Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications
Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding
Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third party tools
Familiarity with programming languages API
Great at problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically
Experience in a PCI work environments
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Accurate and precise attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills
Up-to-date on latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently
Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
