Our West Palm Beach, FL office is seeking a full-time civil engineering field technician with construction inspection experience. Project types will vary in locality from local to regional work. This technician will be mainly focused on performing residential and commercial forensic investigations involving moisture intrusion, wind, hail, flood, ground, and construction related damage to the building envelope and/or structure, and prepare cause and origin reports.
Additional duties may include performing premise liability analysis and evaluations, and other engineering task for which training will be provided. This technician will assist in the preparation of written reports containing observations, findings and cause and origin determination, under the supervision of a professional engineer.
Qualifications:
One or more years of construction experience, including residential, masonry, wood frame, and roofing.
Familiar with reading construction plans, surveys, and codes and regulations preferred, but not required.
High-school diploma or G.E.D.
Must have a valid driver’s license. Provide proof of clean driving record.
Immediate ability to work in the United States
Must be neat in appearance and punctual.
Strong communication skills; verbal and writing. Effective technical report writing is critical. Ability to read/interpret documents. Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. Excellent general computer and mobile skills.
Must have the ability to work efficiently with little or no supervision.
Candidate should be familiar with South Florida locations. Much of the work is on residential properties or construction sites so candidate must be ambulatory and able to be physically active.
