Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to providing exceptional dining experiences. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment while adhering to food safety and sanitation standards. Your creativity and attention to detail will play a key role in menu execution and overall guest satisfaction.
Duties
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner, maintaining high quality and presentation
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service periods
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including equipment and utensils
Follow food safety guidelines, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
Assist in menu planning and development based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and communicate needs to management
Participate in catering events as needed, ensuring all aspects of food service are executed flawlessly
Skills
Proven experience in the culinary field with a focus on fine dining or restaurant environments
Strong food preparation skills with an emphasis on cooking techniques and flavor profiles
Knowledge of dietary department practices, including dietary aide experience is a plus
Familiarity with menu planning, catering, and meal preparation processes
Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods
Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within the kitchen team
Experience:
Our candidates need to have experience and familiarity with Latin cuisine. One to three years’ experience is required. Short order cook experience is a plus.
Requirements:
Degree in Culinary Arts is preferred but not required. ServSave Food Handler certificate is also preferred. Flexibility for scheduling is required. This is a full time position.
