JOB SUMMARY
The Psychiatrist will provide services to adults in the behavioral health continuum. The Clinical Psychiatrist will assess and treat mental illnesses through education and medication management.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Provides outpatient psychiatric services within the guidelines established by the accreditation body and company guidelines.
Completes medical consents, abnormal involuntary movement scales, assessments, contacts, reports, and other required paperwork.
Participates in clinical staff meetings, interdisciplinary case conferences, utilization reviews, peer reviews and managed care programs as requested.
Coordinates and/or assists in the development, coordination and implementation of quality assurance functions within psychiatric services.
Participates in the monitoring of mechanisms for managing the psychiatric health of pediatric and adult patients.
Assists in providing discharge planning for psychiatric services for recipients.
Gathers and maintain patient information and records, including social or medical history obtained from patients, relatives, or other professionals.
Examines laboratory or diagnosis tests on patients to provide information on general physical condition or mental disorder.
Advises or inform guardians, relatives, or significant other of patient's conditions or treatment as applicable to HIPAA guidelines.
Must maintain the required continuing education classes, attend conferences or seminars, or conduct research to increase understanding of mental, emotional, or behavioral states or disorders.
Reviews and evaluates treatment procedures and outcomes of other psychiatrists or medical professionals.
Prescribes, directs, or administers psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, behavioral disorders and substance abuse disorders.
Analyzes and evaluates recipient data or test findings to diagnose nature or extent of mental disorder.
Other responsibilities as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Doctoral degree, either M.D. or D.O., in medicine
Must have and maintain current Florida License in good standing
Board Certification
2 to 4 years of progressive responsible psychiatric assessment, treatment and rehabilitation care to patient's experience.
2 to 4 years of progressive experience working in a public, community, behavioral health setting.
Substance Abuse Management experience/counseling treatment
Opioid Abuse Management experience.
Effective written, verbal and electronic communication skills
Show initiative, creativity and problem-solving ability
Ability to collaborate with colleagues to provide quality healthcare
Ability to work under pressure
Computer literate
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience using an electronic medical records system
Bilingual a plus, but not required
RELATIONSHIP REPORTING
Collaborate with owner(s) as to the patients progress and needs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to stand and or sit while utilizing a computer
Communicate professionally with patients and staff third parties.
