Plays a major role in the maintenance department team in performing repairs and maintenance to equipment and facilities. Has primary responsibility for overseeing, monitoring cleanliness and upkeep of the fitness area (including but not limited to cleaning and painting) on a daily basis. Insures that equipment is operational and safe. Interacts directly with Fitness Director as necessary to accomplish objectives.
Essential Functions:
Maintain a daily presence in the fitness areas to monitor custodial cleaning, upkeep, equipment function and safety.
Maintain, paint and repair facility, equipment and grounds to permit uninterrupted and safe program function and administrative operations on an ongoing basis. With special emphasis on fitness equipment.
Interact with fitness equipment vendors, as necessary to accomplish timely repairs.
Operate all equipment and tools in a safe manner and provide preventive maintenance to keep equipment operational.
Responds to staff requests for repair work or other assistance regarding physical plant.
Assists with maintenance and repairs on campus as directed by maintenance supervisor
Other duties may be assigned as needed. Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
