We have an immediate opening for a weekly editor on Fort Myers Beach.
The Breeze Newspapers, an independent newspaper group here in sunny Southwest Florida, is seeking a standout editor or reporter who understands and loves community journalism, the kind of reporting that entails covering everything from town council meetings and the crowning of the Shrimp Fest queen to breaking updates on the worst fish kill in recent history washing up on your community's shores.
This position requires the ability to write the kind of stories that can make even the smallest paper a great read; good photography skills; strict attention to detail and a proven ability to meet overlapping deadlines. Our eight print weeklies also have a strong online news presence so the ability to write good, clean, concise copy on a breaking news cycle is essential as well.
