This position will work closely with our full service, multi-discipline design team of Architects, Engineers, and Project Managers, with a focus on Veterans Administration Healthcare Facilities. The primary functions of this position include taking ownership of electrical designs as the Engineer of Record, mentoring designers and junior engineers, coordinating deliverables, and performing QC reviews for the electrical department. Work location is flexible (North Central Florida).

This position will provide the opportunity to:

Employ independent judgment to develop and prepare system designs from concept and project scope criteria, user's meetings, design team members, field surveys, and code research

Assist in developing and hiring a team of engineers for department growth.

Develop Electrical Project Management experience - prepare electrical construction documents, design solutions, and details for all phases of a project

Perform load calculations, distribution equipment selection, sizing, layout and scheduling, and prepare riser diagrams

Work closely with team members to complete design and construction documents while monitoring electrical schedule and budget

Prepare electrical construction specifications

Participate in client presentations and review meetings

Address revisions and corrections from review comments and red-lined drawings

Conduct on-site observations and prepare reports during project construction phase

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s of Engineering degree from an accredited university

Current PE license in good standing - Florida registration desirable

Three years or more design experience as a registered PE

Experience with REVIT, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and BIM concepts. Knowledge of SKM and lighting design software desirable

Familiarity with NEC, other NFPA codes, and dealing with regulatory agencies

Proficiency in facility power distribution and lighting design

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Availability to travel and possession of a valid driver's license

LEED AP desirable

Nurse Call Systems

Paging

CATV systems

Video and Security Systems

Fire Alarm and Detection

Lightning Protection
